\nThe standoff between PTM, the grass root non-violent, spontaneous Pashtun human rights movement, led by Manzor Pashteen and the Pakistani military establishment continues to mar in violence. This has now become a national issue with Pashteen demanding justice, equality and an end to Pakistan\/Punjabi repression and bloodshed against Pashtun and other minorities, seeking proper implementation of policies by the government based on international human rights that Pakistan has signed and pledged to uphold. Pakistani military establishment pays no heed to such demands. Instead, they continue to go on rampage violating all human rights conventions and basic human rights.<\/p>\n
Tensions have now been escalated in the Pashtun area. Pakistan Police and armed forces have gone on rampage against the Pashtun fenceless communities and undertaken a massive crackdown on PTM members and their followers in an effort to suffocate the voice of the Pashtuns in this part of the world. The police and Army are harassing innocent people, rallying people, resorting to degrading behavior including beating , intimidation, persecution and unlawful arrests and imprisonment on daily basis Such activities are deplorable and despicable. These are crimes under international law. PTM is simply asking Pakistan to honor the commitments it has made to human rights to release its prominent members.<\/p>\n
The PTM leader calls on all Pashtun across the Pashtun belt in Pakistan and everywhere in the world, in Europe and the USA and all the human rights organizations around the world including amnesty international to stand with Pashtun people in solidarity in their fight for basic human rights, freedom and justice. They are asking the Pashtun\/Afghan communities across Europe and America to make the voices and the plight of the Pashtun in Pakistan known to the world.<\/p>\n
They are asking the US government to rein in the Pakistani Army from stopping their degrading behavior and repression of the Pashtuns in Pakistan. PTM calls upon the US and the UN to send out their fact-finding mission to the affected communities in North Waziristan to assess the situation and the plight of the Pashtun people. Pakistani army has imposed a reign of terror upon the people that has made life awfully miserable for this community.<\/p>\n
