The names of the winners of this prize were announced today (Tuesday, May 17) in Stockholm, Sweden.<\/p>\n
Sweden’s Royal Academy has said it has been recognized as the winner of the award for “foundational discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.”<\/p>\n
They’ve used the science of physics to develop methods that are the basis of today’s powerful machine learning.<\/p>\n
John J. Hopfield was born in 1933 in Chicago and is a professor at Princeton University in America.<\/p>\n
Jeffrey A. Hinton was born in 1947 in London and is a professor at the University of Toronto in Canada.<\/p>\n
Victor Ambrose and Gary Roccon won the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine yesterday as well.<\/p>\n
Winners of Nobel Prize in the fields of literature, chemistry, peace and economic sciences are also to be announced in the coming days.<\/p>\n
